| Venena's mother was an aspiring poet who found a creative outlet baking deserts and selling them to local restaurants. Venena's father was a musician and writer who worked odd jobs to support his family.
Early in Venena's life her parents separated and Venena's mother took her away to a small village in the mountains where she attended school, learned to write poetry and spent her childhood.
Venena's mother and father were quite young when her mother became pregnant with her.Her parents were immature and destined to take different paths in life.
After their separation, Venena's mother took to drinking alcohol and married a known criminal hiding up in the Pyranees.Being wanted for murder in Turkmenistan he was eventually stabbed numerous times in a bar room brawl and found dead on the side of the road heading to their home on the river.

While on a trip to see his daughter accompanied by his new girlfriend, Venena demanded of her father to take her with him or she would run away from her mother and he would never see her again. She was 11 years old.
Her father's girlfriend felt compelled to honor her request and pleaded her case to her father.Venena left with them on the premise that it was a vacation and she hadn't spent time with him in a long while.
Upon arriving back in the city, her father filed papers with the local magistrate asking for custody of his daughter which he was eventually granted.
But for Venena, the imagined life she thought she would now live evaded her. Her father was like her mother. He was a nomad, adrift on the sea of life. Even though he made a good living, he could not sit still. The call of the unknown beckoned him.
Venena was like her father, the call of the unknown beckoned her also, and he was but a tool in her journey.
